J. Gabriel Pinto (PhD) is an Assistant Professor (Professor Auxiliar) at the Department of Industrial Electronics of the University of Minho, where he teaches in the graduation and post-graduation courses of the Engineering School. He is an Integrated Researcher at the Group of Energy and Power Electronics (GEPE) of the Centro ALGORITMI of the University of Minho. He received the degree in Electronics Engineering (2001), the MSc degree in Industrial Electronics (2004) and the PhD degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering (2012) from the University of Minho. Since 2001, he integrated the team of more than 10 R&D projects and is the author or co-author of more than 60 publications in international journals and conferences indexed by SCOPUS or ISI Web of Knowledge. He supervised 15 MSc dissertations concluded with success and is currently the supervisor of 2 PhD thesis and 6 MSc dissertations. In addition to the scientific and pedagogical activities, he participated in numerous studies related to the Power Quality in Electrical Systems for several entities that requested advice from GEPE. His research interests relate with Power Electronics, Power Quality, Renewable Energy and Digital Control of Power Electronic Converters.
