João Luiz Afonso

João Luiz Afonso was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1963. He is Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Electronics of the University of Minho, Portugal, where he works since 1993. He received the degree in Electrical Engineering and the MSc degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1986 and 1991, respectively. In 2000 he obtained his PhD in Industrial Electronics from the University of Minho, Portugal. He lectures the subjects of Electrical Machines, Complements of Power Electronics, Electrical Power Quality, Active Power Filters, and Renewable Energy. His researching activities are related with the development of Active Power Filters, Power Quality Monitoring Systems, Power Electronics for Renewable Energy Sources and for Electric Vehicles, and with the realization of studies on Power Quality and Energy Efficiency.

José Augusto Afonso

José Augusto Afonso graduated in Electronic Engineering from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Brazil, in 1993. He obtained the MSc degree in Informatics from the University of Minho, Portugal, in 1997, and the PhD. degree in Industrial Electronics from the University of Minho, in 2005. Presently, he is an Assistant in the Department of Industrial Electronics of University of Minho and a researcher of the CMEMS-UMinho R&D center. His professional interests are in wireless sensor networks, body area networks, mobile sensing, Internet of Things, wireless communications and medium access control protocols.

João Carlos Amaro Ferreira

João Carlos Amaro Ferreira has PhD degree in Computer Science Engineering, MSC in Telecommunication and a degree in Physics all of then from Technical University of Lisbon (UTL/IST). He is professor in Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon (IPL/ISEL). He is also consultant with different companies and Portuguese institutions. Currently, he teaches subjects in the area of mathematics and information systems and he supervises several year end, MSc and PhD students. His professional and research interests are in retrieval, social networks, geographic and multimedia retrieval, Electric Vehicle, Intelligent Systems, intelligent transportation (ITS) and sustainable mobility systems. He is author or coauthor of more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers of several international conferences and workshops in different areas of computer science.

Júlio Manuel de Sousa Barreiros Martins

Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Electronics of the University of Minho. Concluded his graduation inElectrical Engineering, by the Engineering Faculty of University of Porto, in1979. PhD by the University of Minho under the subject of Electrical MachinesControl, in July 1993. He is a teacher at this University since October 1979, where he’s been lecturing courses in the fields of General Electronics, PowerElectronics and Electrical Machines. He’s been focusing his research activitiesin Power Electronics applications, namely Electrical Machinery Drive Systems and Power Quality.

Manuel João Sepúlveda Mesquita de Freitas

Assistant Professor at the Department of Industrial Electronics of the University of Minho since 2004, having beenAssistant Lecturer at the same Department between 1996 and 2004, and junior teaching assistant between 1991 and 1996. Finishes his PhD in IndustrialElectronics Engineering by the University of Minho in 2004. Graduated in Electrical Engineering and Computers at the Faculty of University of Porto in 1991, and the Educational Aptitude and Scientific Capacity Tests at theUniversity of Minho in 1996. Currently he lectures at the University of Minhothe courses of Energy Systems, Project, Electronics and Circuit Analysis. Hisresearch work relates with the development of Active Power Filters and Powerquality Monitoring Systems, with the realization of Power quality Studies, Energetic efficiency and Renewable Energies.

João Carlos Aparício Paulo Fernandes

Graduated in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Option by the Engineering Faculty of University of Lourenço Marques and PhD by University of Minho. Currently is Assistant Professor at the University of Minho and Coordinator of Industrial Electronics Group at Algoritmi Research Center.

Delfim Pedrosa

Delfim Pedrosa was born in Leiria, Portugal on July, 1986. He is PhD Researcher at the Department of Industrial Electronics of the University of Minho, Portugal. He received the MSc and the PhD in Industrial Electronics and Computers Engineering, from the School of Engineering of the University of Minho, in 2010 and 2017, respectively. His research interests are related with Industrial Electronics, and Power Electronics for Electric Vehicles.

Carlos Martins

Carlos Martins was born in January 1994 in Vila Nova de Famalicão, Portugal. He completed the Integrated Master in Industrial Electronics and Computers Engineering in 2021 at the University of Minho. He is currently Researcher in the Department of Industrial Electronics of the University of Minho in ambit the Project "DAIPESEV - Development of Advanced Integrated Power Electronic Systems for Electric Vehicles". His research interests are related to Electric Mobility, Power Quality and Smart Grids.

Luís Machado

Luís Machado was born in February 1995 in Guimarães, Portugal. He completed the Integrated Master in Industrial Electronics and Computers Engineering in 2019 at the University of Minho. He is currently Researcher in the Department of Industrial Electronics of the University of Minho in ambit the Project "DAIPESEV - Development of Advanced Integrated Power Electronic Systems for Electric Vehicles". His research interests are related to Electric Mobility, Power Quality and Smart Grids.

Tiago Sousa

Tiago Sousa was born in April 1992 in Viana do Castelo, Portugal. In 2017 he finished the Integrated Master in Industrial Electronics and Computer Engineering from University of Minho, starting his activity as Invited Assistant Professor of the Industrial Electronics Department of University of Minho in the same year. Nowadays, he is a PhD student in GEPE and a collaborator of the ALGORITMI research centre of University of Minho. His research interests include Electrical Power Quality, Smart Grids and Electric Mobility.
